The Arrow of Time Does Not Lead To Absurdity!

Current cosmology tells us that that because the universe is rapidly expanding, the arrow of time is pushing the world towards a decrepit situation called the “Big Freeze.” In between this Big Bang beginning and the Big Freeze ending, the evolution of intelligent and conscious life can only be interpreted as absurd (I think Nobel Laureate physicist Steven Weinberg is credited for using the term “absurd).

Traditional Christianity offers a more hopeful ending whereby, after the destruction of the world, God will create a new world and redeem mankind. Religion, however, is unable to express this ending and new beginning in a rational scientific language. So we must simply have faith that such a miraculous future event will happen.

Both science and religion are incorrect if they view the arrow of time and dynamical process as merely physical and linear.

The arrow of time is circular. (There is no time without periodicity or cycles.) In fact, it takes a transcendental circular path. Creation starts from God in a non-physical realm and descends into time and space through finite forms that reach the equilibrium end-state of inert matter. Then, the arrow of process ascends back towards the Creator through the evolution (reverse entropy) of intelligence and consciousness in the human race.

What both current religion and science misses in the divine scheme of creation and evolution is that organic complexity continues to evolve into a non-local and non-physical realm, which is theologically called heaven.

The human mind is not located in space and human ideas and thoughts are not constrained by physical laws. For instance, we can share half of our knowledge with another person, yet still keep all our knowledge (you cannot expect the same result with sharing half of a physical apple).

Furthermore, the human mind cannot think coherently and reason about things unless its ideas can be put into real order. This order represents the ontologically real non-physical bio-complexity of the human spirit and soul. Religion now enters into the equation of evolution because the mind is organically arranged and organized according to a person’s life choices and values (which are derivatives of one’s love).

Evidence for the above statement is that every function of the physical body answers to some part of the brain and every part of the brain answers to some function of mind. There would be no causal link between mind and body unless the mind was also organically structured.

Religion is God’s strategy to extend the evolution of the biosphere into the non-physical realm of heaven through providing the proper values by which humankind should organize their inner bio-reality. When the physical body dies, we are left with a non-physical bio-structure that either resonates with God (heaven) or doesn’t (hell).

This transcendental and circular “directionality” of cosmic process moves from the first causal principles back to first causal principles – from conscious love back towards conscious love. This cosmic cycle ensures that God’s eternal goal can be present in every finite place and at every moment of time in the dynamical universe. This prolepsis gives the universe its unity and orientation.

The purpose of creation is to create a heaven from the human race!

These are some of the topics that my next book ”Proving God” explores and goes into greater detail – describing new theological concepts and translating them into scientific language.

I will let you know when the book becomes available.
