Can God Be Tortured?

Yes and no.

Christ did indeed suffer on the cross for our sins. But there was a lot more extreme physics going on behind the scenes of the crucifixion event than meets the eye.

That God took on a physical body while on earth means He had acquired a human nervous system quite capable of experiencing extreme and painful punishment. But what logical dynamic is involved that would allow God’s physical suffering to have any connection with human sin?

Sin is only vanquished when it is met head on and repelled.

What is not taken into account (by theologians) is that God not only had the capacity to feel physical pain, but could also experience all human compulsions, weakness and the allurements of the world.

Therefore, is it not more likely that resisting these negative influences on earth was the actual means by which the Lord could face and defeat human sin?

If a mere human had the power to come down from the cross and put everyone in their place, he or she most certainly would. Why not God?

The Lord God had to remain on the cross to fight evil to the very end. He had to bring His human nature (and physical body) into complete compliance with His DIVINE nature. This is accomplished by suffering extreme humiliation for a higher spiritual goal.

By staying on the cross, Christ was able to resist the powerful human inclination towards self-importance and ruling over others by coercion, force, and a show of power. The Lord humbled Himself by expressing humility to LOVE the entire human race rather than seek dominating control.

The ultra physics behind the Lord’s ultimate glorification and His rising from the dead is that by combating all evil human inclinations He was able to make His physical body perfectly DIVINE and perfectly unified to His heavenly Spirit.

This is why the Lord rose to heaven in a physical body and left an empty tomb. Every cell of His human body became a PERFECT recipient form for spiritual influence. Put into scientific language, Christ’s life on earth was the means by which Divine spiritual LOVE from heaven supervened and perfectly animated and adapted physical matter to its eternal disposition. This is top-down causality on steroids—by which first principles, causes, and effects become one and the same thing simultaneously.

Jesus was Jehovah in the flesh! By making His human Divine, and uniting it perfectly with the Divine essence, the Lord became the “Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” This entire glorification process is what is revealed when one understands the sequence of stories of the Holy Word and Revelation from a higher, spiritual level of meaning.

I have devoted much of this blog site to introducing you to these higher meanings.
