Scientist/theologian Emanuel Swedenborg claimed that one could learn the secrets of spiritual salvation (regeneration) from studying the stages of the growth of a tree.
He also claimed that one could understand the organization of the Spiritual World and God’s Heaven from studying the human anatomy and all its organic functions and relationships.
One could also form a universal and theistic model of causal process from discovering that in divine action, God first produces influx, influx produces endeavor (force), endeavor produces energy (kinetic) and energy produces a final effect or measurable outcome.
Nothing in the created world exists alone. Furthermore, nothing exists which is unconnected from the first causal principle of all things. In this century it will be discovered that this first principle is God’s infinite Love! In such a theistic formulation we will ascertain that, from love comes endeavor. From endeavor comes trajectory. From trajectory comes final form—a form that faithfully puts the original quality and disposition of that love on display. For the effect is the continuation of the cause and the cause is a continuation of the first principle (principle of agency). There is similitude and correspondence from beginning to end.
Nothing is more self-evident than that the universe is unified and that nature is in a constant endeavor towards increased self-organization (the perfection of unity through increased diversity). The essence of love is to unify.
Science and theology are one!
In fact, salvation is the extension of evolutionary science and the laws of creation into a non-physical realm through orderly abstraction—for it involves the human heart and mind being properly disposed and exalted by God’s tenets of goodness, and thus, returning to the first dynamical principles of the spiritual realm.
I explore the unity of science and theology in my new book Proving God.
