Scripture, Relativity, Quantum Physics, and String Theory

In John 1:1-3 of the New Testament, it essentially states that all things in the universe were created from the Word. This does not simply imply that the Lord’s Holy Word testifies that the universe had a beginning, and that God created it, but proclaims something more comprehensive. The universe, with all its laws, order, and bio-complexity emerged out from the dynamics and patterning principles intrinsic to God’s living Word.

Does Scripture have anything to say about the New Physics? By New Physics, I include Einstein’s relativity (special and general), quantum theory, and string theory. It would be quite an “eye opener” if these scientific models were somehow creatively portrayed within the narratives of Scripture. This would also suggest that these different scientific theories are successfully unified within the perfection of God’s Word – something that today’s physicists have not yet succeeded in accomplishing.

In my next book, Proving God, I make the attempt to show how the “correct” elements of these modern theories reflect the hidden architecture within Scripture. By “correct” elements, I mean removing some of the ideas in these theories that thwart unification while retaining other important concepts such as quantum discreteness, higher dimensional spaces, and gravity as the curvature of spacetime geometry.

Relativity theory is wrong in that it limits the velocity for the propagation of matter and information to the speed of light and does not recognize the discrete structure of space. In quantum physics, the wave function does not correctly depict the notion of pure potentiality in the microworld nor does it lend itself easily to geometrical description. The problems with string theory are that it is background dependent, uses classical strings or membranes instead of quantum (non-classical) ingredients and is unsure of what kind of geometry correctly illustrates higher dimensions.

Admittedly, my book project rejects many of the assumptions that both scientists and theologians currently embrace. But we need to find a better science and a better theology. The Holy Word is more than a continuum and its revealed truths occupy different levels with qualitatively different messages. It is a multidimensional document containing deeper, discrete, and more fundamental meanings. Similar to the kinematics of the non-local quantum world, these a priori meanings represent more energetic and expanded content. The quantum vocabulary of Scripture portrays our spiritual potentials perpetually seeking possible outcomes of measurement (our life choices).

Scientifically speaking, the layered structuring of Scripture also depicts metrics and dynamical magnitudes in qualitatively distinct kinds of spaces – from physical spaces (its literal sense) to mental spaces (its higher spiritual sense) to divine spaces (its highest Christocentric sense). Each level of meaning occupies a different ontological sphere of organizational order, and the different cognitive functions required to interpret each level are always invariant relative to each other.

This is just a taste of what is coming down the pike of Divine Providence. I believe that the descent of the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, will bring about an upheaval in both religion and science.

Armageddon is a psycho-topological turf war. Human nature is such that it will vigorously defend its current assumptions concerning reality. Power, personal prestige, jobs, tenure, and grant money are all at risk.

  1. I stumbled across your blog and am quite interested in what you have written. You refer to a book, have you written one? Is it available? Do you have a website?

I work with quantum physics regarding health and agriculture.

My next book, “Proving God,” will most likely be available before the end of this calendar year. I am about a week away from setting up my website. There has been enough interest in my next book that I may publish a smaller work sooner, which addresses whether we can find evidence of quantum physics within the deeper levels of the Sacred architecture (scaffolding) of Holy Scripture. I seek to offer these ideas in the hopes of helping others find real rational ways of unifying science with theology.

I believe all knowledge is connected and ultimately leads to LOVE. Your own work sounds very interesting. Have you published any of your ideas? These are intellectally exciting times to be living in!

  3. Thank you for responding. I look forward to your website and your book.

Yes, I too believe in the direct link between science and theology. The Holy Scripture holds many keys long overlooked for the benefit of mankind. Without an awareness of scientific laws put into place by God Himself, man restricts the manifestation of these benefits and struggles to access the abilities God has placed in each of us.

All knowledge is connected and does lead us to LOVE. How we perceive what we receive in the form of knowledge molds us into who and what we are. There is much to be said here.

My work is leading me to the point of publishing, the quest for knowing more often delays sharing what is now known.

These are exciting days to be living in. In the midst of what appears to be great turmoil, there is a release of knowledge and the understanding of knowledge that dwarfs the turmoil and gives certain hope and remedy for those who embrace it.

I strongly recommend that you start writing what you NOW know into a book format. We are all learning new things every day. This should not be an obstacle for publishing. 10% of putting a book together is in its writing. The other 90% is in its re-writing (believe me, I know).

One of the biggest challenges of my own book (besides the extreme difficulty of the topic) is trying to make challenging new concepts intelligible to all seekers of truth – while providing something that serious scientists can sink their teeth into. In other words, I am unable to share my knowledge without the help of professional editors looking over my shoulder.

Sharing what one knows pleases the Lord God. It is an act of deep love.

What most of the world does not grasp is that the descent of the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, which is described in Revelation, represents a paradigm shift. There is going to be an upheaval in both our assumptions about science and theology.

  5. Love is the best energy in the whole universe. My question is how brainwaves for love look like…

  6. thegodguy says:

Yes, love is the best energy. In fact, love is fundamental and creates energy. Everything is ENDEAVOR. The fact that nature shows us an ongoing compulsion for self-organization and complexity is a strong clue that LOVE is the key to understanding the mystery of agency in the universe (complexity is according to utility, and all utility is a physical analog of love).

I do not have the equipment in my home office to determine what brainwaves for love look like. But even if I did, I would still have to distinguish brainwaves between the various qualities of love. There is corporeal love, self-love, love of fame and power, love of learning, love of understanding, love for truth, marriage love, love of the neighbor, and love of God. I suspect that each of these distinct “species” of love has its own peculiar brainwave form.

See my post entitled “The Hierarchy of Love.”

    Thanks for your response.

  7. Leo says:

Have you made the connection yet between the “free will” that God have man and Heisenburg’s Uncertainty Principle and upredictable quantum fluctuations? It seems to me that God weaved free will into the fabric of the universe. What do you think?

  8. thegodguy says:

    Dear Leo,

    Thanks for the comment.

In my soon to be published book, “Proving God,” I most certainly will be addressing quantum uncertainty and free will. However, I favor David Bohm’s interpretation of quantum events over other interpretations. What is unique about my upcoming book is that it connects conscious action to the superposition principle through new geometrical principles of action.

Not only did God weave free will into the fabric of the universe but irreducible usefulness, which is derived from Infinite LOVE.

  9. The style of writing is very familiar . Have you written guest posts for other bloggers?

  10. thegodguy says:

    Dear HtGSPF,

When I originally started this blog I did respond to other religious/scientific bloggers. Now that I have a new book “Proving God” about to be published (and marketed) I do not have the time to search other blogs. Once things settle down I may again add my responses to appropriate topics.

I have not as yet been invited to contribute a guest post for other bloggers.

    Spiritually yours,
    TheGodGuy
