All forms of government in the world are perfect in accordance to their harmony with God’s Divine Government. The more an earthly kingdom is governed by the same principles as those operating in the Lord’s heavenly kingdom, the more perfect and fair it is for its citizens.
This is equally true for all types of human governments – for democracies, monarchies, republics or dictatorships. No single one of these forms of government is any better than the others if the leadership embraces truly spiritual love.
How can that be?
Well, what difference does it make what government you have if your leaders sincerely put love of others above their own self-interests?
If all leaders had a sincere love of God and a sincere love for their citizens, then all forms of government would equally serve and promote the prosperity of others. Think about that. How would one form of government be better than another if they were based on spiritual love? What difference would it make whether a dictator loved you or a congress? You would still be put first!
However, since this is not the case, those of us still on earth must decide on a government that best takes into account the fact that we live in an imperfect world and that no one can be trusted.
So, there are two approaches to improving government in the world. One, that we design a government with better checks and balances. Or number two – that we all make it our personal responsibility to always take the highest ground and adopt God’s principle of mutual love into the very fabric of our lives.
God’s kingdom, which is called heaven, is a kingdom of mutual love. Therefore, when the Lord returns to make all things new, it will not be the overhauling of any particular system or institution. It will be the overhauling of the human heart and mind.
This will not come about from military might or force, but from an innocent acceptance of God’s government – a government run on the principle and policy of deep and profound mutual love.
Any comments? Any suggestions?
