How does God squeeze infinite knowledge into a finite book?

The Bible is a ponderous book. But in no way can its 1,000+ pages contain God’s Infinite Wisdom.

Why is this an issue?

Because, everything God does, must be done from an infinite and eternal perspective. Otherwise, divine action would be dissimilar to God’s actual infinite character and nature. Dissimilarity means imperfection.

If God is the ultimate author of Scripture then it must somehow contain infinite knowledge within its numbered pages. This would also give us a more effective way to verify the sanctity, authority, and inerrancy of the Holy Word – beyond our having unshakable faith or some corroborating archeological evidence.

Even if we were to find archeological evidence for every story in Scripture this would only prove that God was accurate with the historical facts.

Accurate time lines do not portray Infinite Wisdom. Furthermore, the accuracy of biblical events, like the creation story and the age of the universe, are called into serious question by scientific discovery. So how are we to take seriously the claim that all things in the created universe were created from the Word? (John, 1:1-3) That would mean the Holy Word contains scientific as well as moral laws!

Does Scripture give any reference to relativity theory, quantum physics, or superstring theory?

And, what are we to think of God being depicted as angry, starting wars between nations, supporting slavery and polygamy?

Theologian Emanuel Swedenborg had an answer to these problems. He discovered that the Holy Word was a multi-dimensional document. This gave Scripture the depth to contain God’s Infinite Wisdom through levels that contained deeper meanings and revelations within its narratives.

Once this scaffolding of the biblical architecture is recognized and grasped, the mysteries of faith become accessible to the human rational mind – especially concerning the dynamics of salvation and the secret behind the Lord’s return. And more. Much more.

Universal patterns will begin to emerge out from our careful reading of the biblical stories, displaying God’s design in scientific matters as well. Because hidden within the sacred narratives are the patterning principles for holistic process in the universe. By elevating our minds above the literal meaning of the words, Scripture addresses quantum discontinuity, top-down causality, and reveals how every detail of its stories is non-locally connected simultaneously, that is, perfectly oriented to God’s eternal goal and Infinite Wisdom.

These are a few of the issues I will be addressing in my next book, Proving God.

Do these ideas seem strange to you? Does this possibility shake up your current world-view?

Well then, my friend, welcome to the Lord’s Second Coming!

actually…God has not put infinite knowledge in the bible..for the pages are limited and there is only so much ink in the pages. no…it’s trying to get you to merely believe. infinite knowledge is with God and is not going to ever be know to anything or anyone in the world. if you recall not even God as man “jesus” knew the time (exact day of the end). no, rather for it to be revealed when one’s death would either present him before the All Knowing. so what are you writing a book on again? irrelevant. the best of luck….well…maybe ill rebuke myself…????? retort? I’ll also have you know i didnt really read everthing..just the 1st paragraph, im making an idiotic assumption most likely.

    Dear conner,

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I am baffled that you would respond after only reading the first paragraph of my post.

Your not reading the whole post is similar to grasping only the literal sense of the words used in Holy Scripture. God’s Holy Word contains higher levels of meaning. It is the purpose of this blog to teach people to approach Scripture from a higher cognitive function which can elevate their understanding to discover the Lord God’s deeper revelations.

The Word IS God and God is INFINITE truth. There is more to the Holy Word then the “ink” that meets the eye.

yes i know that God is infinite, surrounded with the infinite resource but how can i tap the resource?

  4. thegodguy says:

    Dear oladoja,

God is Infinite Love. The way to tap into Infinite love is through sincere acts of unselfish goodness. Love flows into its image and likeness.

If you want to tap into the Infinite wisdom of Scripture I suggest that you order Emanuel Swedenborg’s “Arcana Coelestia” (Secrets of Heaven) from the Swedenborg Foundation at

i dont know if this is on topic… but first off, there is no way that we can gain infinite knowlege about anything, hense the word “infinite.” things change so there is always going to be more to learn… now if you’re speaking of a deeper understanding then yes… I believe that the “Holy Scripture” is interpreted differently amongst every individual that reads it… but if the lord our god wanted us to know everything about everything then we would know… but instead he leaves us the ability to figure things out for ourselves and with the short amount of life that we’re each granted to live… infinite knowlege seems, to me, “impossible”. i say that the search for infinite knowlege is like throwing ones self into a wild goose chase :)… once again, i may be a little off topic…

    Dear Meta4,

Thank you for your thoughts on this matter. First of all, do you agree that the Lord God has INFINITE Wisdom? If yes, than God’s Holy Word contains Infinite Wisdom as well (because God and the Word are one – John 1:1-3).

My point is that God’s Holy Word cannot be exhausted by the finite human mind -but it can keep learning more of God’s Truth through an eternity. If learning stopped even angels in the highest heaven would live in a state of mental stasis.

Most people are not even aware that Holy Scripture contains distinct levels of meaning. On the lowest level we are presented with literal terms and stories. On a spiritual level these same terms can be elevated to communicate the process of regeneration and salvation of the human heart and mind. On the highest, divine level, these same words can symbolize the Lord’s process of Glorification. Furthermore, all these levels follow organic (living) patterns.

i do believe that infinite knowledge is with god… but i believe that it is with only him… from the beginning god wanted to limit the knowledge and veiws that we had of the world, remember adam and eve and the tree of knowledge of good and evil… eating from that tree caused punishment for all mankind… god lets us know what he wants us to know and gives us the ability to figure things out on our own… infinity is a number that is not limited, it doesn’t stop… therefor we as humans gaining infinite knowledge is a no go… i do believe that the angels in hevan are without infinite knowledge also… like i said before, a deeper understanding of all things? yes but infinite knowlege of all things will only stay with the beholder, that is god…

  7. thegodguy says:

    Dear Meta4,

If we live forever then we must be capable of learning forever. God is certainly willing to teach forever!

    Spiritually yours,

  8. Meta4 says:

so you’re saying that we would still gain knowledge even in the afterlife? how so… how do u know that gods teachings are not only for those of this world… that after we pass over then there would be no need for us to learn more about gods plan for us in our human form, but for us to live along side of him without the worries of knowing? i do believe that there is deeper understanding to gain from the scriptures… gods teachings are to prepare us to have eternal life with him… his teachings are for those in the physical form… once we are with him there would be no more need for learning his plan… his prophecy would be for filled…

  9. thegodguy says:

    Dear Meta4,

Your ideas of the Spiritual World are antiquated. New knowledge concerning heaven and Holy Scripture is now being made available to the world. I offer explanations in my book. I wrote the book to answer just these questions. I am an author of theological books, not a professional blogger. I am working on another book so I cannot get bogged down in intricate theological discussions within the limited sphere of a blog post.

Anyway, we cannot have a serious discussion without you getting familiar with the concepts of my book.

    Spiritually yours,

    • Meta4 says:

and yours are modern? i would love to argue these points some more… and also i would like to know where i can purchase your book, it seems interesting… sorry for taking up so much of your time…

  10. thegodguy says:

    Dear Meta4,

My most recent book “Proving God” is available at

The book has just recently been awarded the “Montaigne Medal” and the “Silver Nautilus Award.” It is also a finalist for the “Eric Hoffer Award” which will be chosen at the end of this month.

    Spiritually yours,
