We are all self-harmonizing beings

Practically everyone is aware of how a vibrating tuning fork can cause other objects, like drinking glasses, to resonate. What is fascinating is that the different physical structures of various objects resonate to tuning forks with different vibratory rates or pitch. So a certain vibratory rate will influence some objects while having no effect on others.

This is grade school physics. But it is also the dynamic principle God uses in religion to save humankind.

Animals have hard-wired or built-in harmonies, which are called instinct. But humans, while they inherit a certain amount of genetic inclinations from their parents, can override these inclinations and choose to resonate with other influences (free will). What really makes people different from each other is not their skin color or physical features but what they resonate with. Free will is a function of love. The human spirit resonates with a particular love just as physical objects resonate to different vibratory rates.

The purpose of religion is to provide a Divine guide so that men and women can choose to resonate with a nobler love over an inferior or selfish love. This represents more than a mental decision, it includes a real modification of structure within the deepest bio-substrate of the neuron.

In other words, our neural activity must align its subtle structure and plasticity according to the ratios and proportions that induce resonance to a particular form of love. Otherwise the human mind and brain would be powerless to put love’s intention into thoughts and corresponding physical actions.

Love and its derivatives (like appetite, ambition, intention, endeavor, affection, and disposition, etc.) are the non-physical active agents that supervene on neural structure to adapt and dispose its forms into recipient bio-vessels.

Religion is not abstracted from physics, biology or evolution. God is Infinite Love. Love is why the created and evolving universe consists of harmonic relationships, unity, and perfect order. God formed nature for the promotion of His divine ends and providence. This divine end is a universal society of souls, called heaven. Heaven is simply God’s order and harmony resonating in the minds, hearts, and souls of men and women.

Through humankind adopting spiritual values the created world reaches its greatest resonance with God’s Love. Religion calls this resonance a covenant.

A whole book can be written on this topic. In fact, I did write such a book, entitled Proving God. If you have been following this blog you have been given bits and pieces of its contents. It will be available to the public in spring 2010. I will keep you updated.

    Why do we die?

  2. thegodguy says:

    Dear Russ,

You missed some of my other posts. We leave our physical “body-suits” because they break down over time and that our true abode is in the spiritual world. But the quality of spiritual life is according to what values and principles we resonate with. The human mind or spirit is not constrained by physical laws – you can share half of your ideas with another person and still keep all your ideas (something you can’t do with a physical apple pie).

Of course there are greater details concerning this topic – especially in a discussion that would lead to a plausible scientific explanation. However, a short four word question on your part will not generate a four chapter response on my part. That is why I have written the book “Proving God.”

But if you have certain specific questions I will try to answer them.

    Spiritually yours,
    TheGodGuy

  3. Russ says:

If our true abode is spiritual why do we suffer pain and death? Why would God make us suffer in these bodies? Why not just make us spiritual in the first place and skip this life of suffering altogether?

  4. thegodguy says:

    Dear Russ,

We need to form our ideas about reality in time and space, otherwise we could not have a sense of distance, size, speed or duration in the pre-geometrical world of the spirit. I spend a whole chapter in my upcoming book about the psycho-topological features of the spiritual world.

Without a nervous system to detect pain how could we move about safely? Suffering often brings individual’s closer to God and to re-evaluate one’s life.

We already are spiritual. But spiritual what – angels or screw-ups? We choose!

There is no spiritual life without individuality. To survive the death of the physical body we must have our personality and its inclinations kept in tact from one world to the other. The physical world is where we form our subjective belief systems. We are what we love (and hate).

Only a God of love would protect human freedom to the point of staying out of our lives if we so choose. Free will is meaningless without hazard.

    Spiritually yours,
    TheGodGuy

  5. Russ says:

Sure I can learn by experiencing the pain of touching a hot iron but why do people suffer the pain of death and illness? Why did my mother suffer for months with cancer before she died?

The Bible teaches that we suffer death because we are sinners and apart from receiving Jesus as our Savior we will suffer eternal death in hell.

  6. thegodguy says:

    Dear Russ,

My mother died of cancer as well. However, what ratio of time is there between several months and an eternity? I do not have the inside scoop between God and our moms but God punishes no one!

    God is pure mercy.

Every sin is forgiven in the other world. So how is it that some find themselves in hell? Because they put themselves above others as a matter of principle and cannot tolerate life among angelic beings who live from a principle of mutual love. Those in hell live and breathe hatred. If God were to remove their hatred they would be robbed of their RULING LOVE and LIFE.

You have opened up another big issue over what Scripture teaches. Which I cannot get into now. But receiving Jesus is not some kind of mind-faith as some Christian denominations teach. Rather, it is to follow the Lord’s commandments and live a life of goodness towards others.

Heaven is not some place you go to. Heaven is something you become.

    Spiritually yours,
    TheGodGuy
