Just because I have damsels perform for me doesn’t mean I am sexist.

I grow many kinds of trees on my property, which started out simply as an empty “field.” There is one favorite tree in the midst of this grove that I often go to because under its wonderful shade, protective branches and developing fruit, I can always count on finding beautiful damsels who are willing to dance and show off their charms for me.

Yet, I maintain that I am not a mere male chauvinist pig. I am not grunting or drooling excessively during these fantastic displays. Please allow me to defend myself.

From the noblest of intentions, I ask them to put on a show for me according to their “womanly” talents that best captivate my senses from their varied and open allurements. In all honesty, they perform for me in different stages of undress. Then, taking a deeper and more penetrating view at these beauties, I search out the spiritual goodness and usefulness within each of them.

Yes, I do treat these gals as my property. They are my property!

You see, this all takes place in a field that represents the religion and church of my inner heart and mind. The tree I find such comfort with is actually my intellect and worldview, which grows out of the soil of my chosen life-values and deepest beliefs. The beautiful damsels that dance before me and charm me under this tree are all the feelings and ideas in my heart that I find most useful and can lead to the greatest wisdom.

This special grove is not observed from mere ocular vision.

It is a theater and spectacle not simply of a feral imagination but of the inmost reality and coherent structure of a person’s spirit. This grove displays the true science of our mental growth seeking God’s wisdom and salvation. All the special images, subjects, objects and characters represent the amphitheater and drama that plays itself out while hidden from the eyes of the world.

Using this language of symbolism to describe the most intimate workings of the human heart and mind represents the greatest science that humans can possess! If one can learn to master this special vocabulary he or she will also be able to apply it to the stories and fantastic images of the Holy Bible and gain new revelations about the deepest mysteries of reality from the Lord God!

Those of you who have studied the ideas of Emanuel Swedenborg can recognize elements of the above scenario (my inner “landscape”) from his theological writings, including his great scientific/theological work titled Worship And Love Of God.

It is more important than ever for the world of humanity that its citizens step up to the plate and dare to stretch their neurons.
