In the Spiritual World, everyone becomes their own whistle blower!

Why on earth would anyone snitch on themselves? Well, I am not talking about the Earth, but of the unique dynamics ruling the spiritual world, which always makes one’s innermost thoughts and feelings shine forth like a huge electric advertising sign in New York’s Times Square!

How is this possible?

Well, each of us gives off a cloud or sphere of particles (effluvia) which keen-scented animals like dogs can smell. This sphere is created by a multitude of organic processes in our physical bodies. Our sphere is so particular to our individuality that dogs can easily differentiate the owner of a particular smell.

According to scientist/theologian Emanuel Swedenborg, in the Spiritual World, one is released from his or her physical body and takes on a spiritual body. Rather than worldly substances, this rarefied body consists of spiritual substances that reflect the precise quality of our hearts and minds.

The spiritual body also gives off a sphere.

But this sphere, which is the result of the activity of our inner spirit, gives off the personal qualities of our deepest thoughts, feelings and intentions. Angels and other spirits can detect this sphere with great acuity. So nothing can ever be hidden from others in the Spiritual World.

This is the “spiritual” meaning behind the biblical passage:

There is nothing covered that shall not be revealed; or hidden that shall not be known; therefore, whatsoever ye have said in the darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in bed-chambers, shall be proclaimed upon the rooftops. (Luke 12:2,3)

Self-love and egoism causes the most offensive and worst foul odors to envelope one’s spirit in the afterlife. Those who are living “stink bombs” are kept away from heaven, which is a kingdom of selfless and mutual love. If everyone really knew this, there would be much less corruption in the world!

Thank you for a most wonderful discourse, quite touching and resonant with some real life experience. Just got reintroduced to the miracle of Helen Keller, and thus Swedenborg, now you. Thanks.
