The symbolism of my 700th post

This is my 700th published blog post!

Being a long-time student of scientist/theologian Emanuel Swedenborg and his biblical symbolism (called correspondences) I was curious as to what the number “700” symbolized and if it had any relevance to what my previous 699 posts had been all about.

Generally speaking, I have tried to use my blog to express Swedenborg’s spiritual ideas in new ways that would help to capture the world’s imagination (while also promoting my three books addressing similar topics). These ideas mainly focus on the challenging process of our personal transformation based on God’s ultimate plan for creating a heavenly kingdom from the human race.

So I began to explore the number “700” to see if I could harvest more elevated and profound meanings.

Well, the number  “7” is a holy number and according to Emanuel Swedenborg, represents a process reaching its finishing state or fullness (like the Seven Day Creation Story in Genesis which symbolically communicates the full process of spiritual growth or human epigenesis). The extra “zeros” added to the number “7” symbolize a more intense expression of this completed process. (Those of my readers who also know what our spiritual “remains” are, and that they are represented by the number “10,” can appreciate that all multiples of this number would convey the expansion and development of this sacred spiritual plane within us to a more mature and potent level.)

In spiritual terms, this intensification also symbolizes the complete destruction of all human false thinking and perverted worldviews from the correctional powers of the Lord God’s spiritual teachings and tenets. In fact, the number “700” refers to all the holy aspects and fullness of the Lord’s highest heavenly community.

That certainly sounds intense and relevant to me!
