The human mind, Scripture and organized data (exotic matter)

render of DNAAs a Swedenborgian theologian, one of the most interesting directions science is moving in is the notion of “exotic matter.” The deeper they probe into coherent structure, the more they run into organized information. This organized data is called exotic matter.

“Exotic” is scientifically preferred over “intelligent.”

Physicists contend that information is form. While intelligence is ruled out of materialistic scientific models, the design and patterning principles found on deeper and deeper levels of ontological reality presents a problem of how “dead” matter can assume such profound organized structure—like human chromosomes and genes.

Existence is the formation of relationships. But why?

Scientist/theologian Emanuel Swedenborg embraced this topic several centuries ago, and stated that all information arranged itself into a series of coherent orbs from spiritual principles, which he called the “Circle of Life.” (Process in the universe and human organic structure both seem to be cyclic.)

In fact, the living human mind acts like the universe in that its main function is to organize ideas into rational and coherent information. This suggests that all structure in the universe represents some rational idea.

How deep does this informational organization go?

According to Swedenborg, organized data transforms into God’s Divine Truth deep within the narratives of Holy Scripture. So the Bible is organized by the same data patterns that rule the physical universe and its processes.

Both the universe and God’s Word consist of irreducible wisdom rather than irreducible chance.
